In the creative world, my normalcy has become a rarity -- I don't wear scarves in the summer, I don't have any tattoos or piercings (not even my ears); my glasses are solely to fix my terrible vision.

Hey! I'm Whitney Yando, and I think it's possible to be normal and creative at the same time.

I have an abnormal passion for space and dinosaurs and all unexplainable things of the like. But don't mistake that nerdiness for anything cool -- I'm just a midwest girl in a hipster world. I wear plaid because I grew up in Indiana, not because it's ironic. I skipped town at 18 when I was offered a full academic scholarship to Florida State University.

I've grown up a little in the meantime. I traded sorority sisters for nieces and nephews and use my abundance of useless knowledge to become freakishly good at Jeopardy! I write as an opportunity to create, to make people laugh or to show them something they've never seen before. It's my way of making something without actually making something.
